dNTP is a generic term referring to the four deoxyribonucleotide triphosphates: dATP, dCTP, dGTP and dTTP. These are the building blocks of deoxyribonucleic acid or the more familiar acronym – DNA.

dATP - deoxyadenosine triphosphate:

dATP

dCTP – deoxycytidine triphosphate:

dCTP

dGTP – deoxyguanosine triphosphate:

dGTP

dTTP – thymidine triphosphate:

dTTP

These four neucleotides together are called dNTP, they are used whenever DNA is synthesized, such as in the polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
